Colour Pop recently released a new eyeshadow: Puppy Love ($5 USD).  Not only is the colour beautiful, but all of the proceeds go to a good cause.  I have purchased from Colour Pop in the past (review here and here) and have been keen to order again-- if it weren't for the CAD and shipping charges. When I was given the opportunity to join a group buy I jumped at the chance to grab this shadow.  Now, we may have had some shipping issues but everything is sorted out!

For over 30 years, Best Friends Animal Society has been running America's largest no-kill sanctuary. You can learn more about them here.  As a "rescue" pet owner, I know how much joy my little dog Echo has brought to my family, and would hate to imagine that she could have been put down if nobody wanted her.  (At the end of this post I have included a photo of my Echo!).  As a make-up junkie I love that I got a new eyeshadow...so win-win!

Puppy Love is described as a "soft peach with pink & gold duo chrome in a pearlized finish".  While I wouldn't go so far as to call it a duo-chrome, it s a genuinely beautiful champagne that would look beautiful all over the lid, as a pop of light under the brow, and even as a highlighter. I can't wait to work this into my routine!

I also wanted to share a little bit about my dog Echo with you.  Originally she belonged to a breeder, but she wasn't very good at breeding.  After one healthy litter, her next litter was very weak and my understanding is only one puppy survived.  The owner was downsizing and so despite how much he loved her, there wasn't room for her at the new place.  The owner was a friend of my dad's boss.  The week before my dad had mentioned off hand that he was looking for a dog to join our family, and well, the rest is history!  Originally my dad loved her because she had hair, not fur (so no wet dog smell) and for her sweet temperament.  Echo is now 8 years old, and we have had her for 5 (we celebrated her "birthday" last week!).  She really has a unique relationship with every member of my family, and is a real joy to have with us.  I think that Echo knows how lucky she is to be with my family (with two grandparents who she gets to hang out with all day!) and I think part of it is she knows that she didn't have this kind of love and attention before.  I think Echo knows that we adopted her, and I know that she is happy with us.  If you are thinking of getting a dog or a cat, first check out your local shelter-- you may just save a life, and get a new best friend in return.

Do you have a special pet adoption story?
